How to use AddThis for Social Bookmarking.

If you look at the bottom of this post you can see that I have AddThis installed where you can share my post on a variety of websites. To include AddThis in your blog should take less than 5 minutes. A website with a good description of why to install AddThis and how to install Addthis is here. Follow their instructions numbered 1 - 7 and make sure you stop when you get to the "whats next" section. I have shortened their instructions to 5 steps below.

1) Go to Add This and get your button page and select your button. They provide various bookmarking plugins. You can also create an account with them to get the usages statistics of this bookmarking plugin.

2) Now get the code from their website and paste it in a notepad.

3) Go to your blogger blog’s Template >> Edit HTML and expand your template by clicking on Expand WidgetTemplates.

4)Now search for "div class=’post-footer’ " in your HTML template and paste your code for AddThis just below it. This will show your bookmarking buttons just below your post. (shortcut: copy the "div class" code and then put you cursor in the html box. Hit Ctrl-A, Ctrl-F and then Ctrl-V. The "div class" code should be highlighted)

5) Save your Template and you are done
