Blog Project Instructions for the week

This week we are going to do three simple things that were all mentioned in the reading.

1) Include a poll in your blog. It can be about anything. You will have to research different ways to include a poll depending on what platform you are using.

2) Set up Google Alerts for your blog. Make sure at least one alert is for the URL of your blog.

3) Go into your analytics. Set the analytics to display all data from 1 /30 until 2/6. Find the following information:

a) What percentage of your traffic came from search engines, direct, and referrals?

b) How many people came to your site and the left without clicking on anything else?

c) What was the average time spent on the site?

d) How many different states did people visit your site from?

e) How many unique visitors did you have?

Create a notepad document that includes your name, your url and the answers to those 5 questions and submit it to blackboard under the content section. Look for the blog project instructions and you will see a link for Week 4 analytic questions. You must submit by Sunday at 11:00pm or the link will disappear and you will lose 10 points! Give yourself time to figure these answers out. You will learn the most by going through and playing with you analytics. Do not spend 5 minutes on this and then ask me to help you. This is very basic analytics!
